Irresistible Saffran Panna Cotta
There are few deserts as popular as Italian Panna Cotta. Thanks to recipe creator and Zafferia friend Targol, we now bring you a wonderfully yellow and delicious Saffron Panna Cotta that will blow everyone away – guaranteed!
Ingredients for 2 portions:
- ½ teacups of milk
- ¾ cups of cream
- ¼ cups of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of rose water
- 1 teaspoon of cardamon
- 2 pinches of saffron powder
- A few saffron threads as garnish
- 2 teaspoons of hot water
- 1 ½ teaspoons of gelatine powder
- Dissolve the gelatine in hot water
- Mix cream, milk and sugar in a saucepan and set on medium heat. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
- When the sugar has fully dissolved add the saffron, cardamom, rosewater and keep stirring. Cook mixture on medium heat until just it’s about to start boiling. Remove from the heat.
- Add gelatine to cream mixture, stirring to dissolve.
- Pour warm mixture into moulds or serving cups. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours or until set.
- You can garnish it with Saffron threads, rose petals, silvered almonds, or pistachios to make the panna cottas look even more stunning.
