Irresistible Saffran Panna Cotta

Zafferia's Saffron Panna Cotta

There are few deserts as popular as Italian Panna Cotta. Thanks to recipe creator and Zafferia friend Targol, we now bring you a wonderfully yellow and delicious Saffron Panna Cotta that will blow everyone away – guaranteed!

Ingredients for 2 portions:

  • ½ teacups of milk
  • ¾ cups of cream
  • ¼ cups of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of rose water
  • 1 teaspoon of cardamon
  • 2 pinches of saffron powder
  • A few saffron threads as garnish
  • 2 teaspoons of hot water
  • 1 ½ teaspoons of gelatine powder
  1. Dissolve the gelatine in hot water
  2. Mix cream, milk and sugar in a saucepan and set on medium heat. Stir to dissolve the sugar.
  3. When the sugar has fully dissolved add the saffron, cardamom, rosewater and keep stirring. Cook mixture on medium heat until just it’s about to start boiling. Remove from the heat.
  4. Add gelatine to cream mixture, stirring to dissolve.
  5. Pour warm mixture into moulds or serving cups. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours or until set.
  6. You can garnish it with Saffron threads, rose petals, silvered almonds, or pistachios to make the panna cottas look even more stunning.
